Cyber Divers is a 501(c)(3). Your donation is tax-deductible and it pays for unglamorous, specific things: indoor field time through the winter, a kit for every player, puzzle sets, a trained facilitator's time, and the transportation that decides whether a child can attend at all.

We would rather show you the invoice than ask you to trust a mission statement. This is what a 20 to 30 player league actually costs to put on the field.

  • Indoor space for the winter  ·  $12,500

    November 1 through March 30. This is the whole season, and it is the difference between a club that runs all year and a club that disappears for five months. Philadelphia winters end outdoor youth programs by default. Nothing else on this list matters if the children have nowhere to be between November and March.

  • Uniforms for the league  ·  about $900

    A kit for every player. This one is not equipment. A child in a uniform belongs to something, is seen belonging to it, and goes home wearing the evidence.

  • Four portable goals  ·  about $400

    Portable nets let us run small-sided games, which means more touches per child and fewer children standing in a line waiting for a turn.

  • Cones and reversible practice shirts  ·  about $300

    Double-sided shirts split a group into two teams in four seconds. Unglamorous, and used every single session.

  • Fifteen size 4 match balls  ·  about $200

    Size 4 is the correct ball for elementary-age players. Fifteen means nobody shares and nobody waits.

Roughly $14,300 covers a full league for the season, indoor space included. Gifts of any size go to the line item that still needs it most, and we will tell you which one that was.

    Recurring gifts are what let us promise a site that a program will still be running in March. Choose the monthly option on the donation page.

Where the money goes

We are a small organization and we will tell you plainly what your money buys. The largest costs in programs like ours are consistently the same three: trained adult time, materials, and transportation.

Transportation is the one donors tend to overlook and families name constantly. Nationally, cost, availability, and safe transportation are the three reasons parents give for not being able to enroll their child in an afterschool program. Removing the third one is often the difference between a child attending every week and attending twice.

Consistency is the mechanism. Funding is what makes consistency possible.
